Miguel Delgado, M.D. states that the question has come up several times as to the safety of CoolSculpting before a woman becomes pregnant. CoolSculpting targets the fat layer and does not penetrate the deeper organs. CoolSculpting will not affect a woman’s ability to have children, but it is not recommended to have the treatment while pregnant.
There have not been any studies done while pregnant or nursing, and therefore it is not recommended. Also, a woman’s hormones are very active during pregnancy that might make the treatment less effective.
CoolSculpting is a safe treatment before pregnancy, and about 20% of the fat cells will die. If you return to your pre-pregnancy weight, you should also return to your great results.
Some women may not be good candidates after pregnancy if they have a lot of loose skin, they may want to consider a tummy tuck to get rid of fat and tighten the skin.
